FSOT: Rolex 14060M Submariner No Date K Serial Unpolished Box & Papers - MINT Hello all, Up for sale is a Classic and now Discontinued Rolex 14060M Submariner No Date K Serial Unpolished Box & Papers The watch is in very clean condition with thick case and sharp lugs. This is the last generation of Rolex Submariner 5513 before it was discontinued (L series is the last year of production of reference 5513 before it changes to 14060 with sapphire crystal and new movement), it's the most sought after 5513 with the transitional gloss dial with white gold surrounds and it comes with a fantastic full set. The Rolex Submariner ref. 14060 In 1990, Rolex finally got around to replacing the glorious ref. 5513, a reference that started life in 1962 and one which spawned MilSubs as well as acting as the test bed for the Helium Escape Valve, later to go on to find a permanent home on the Sea-Dweller.

The Rolex Submariner traces its proud heritage back to illustrious models like the reference 6204, the 6538 (aka 'James Bond' model), the 5508 and the 5513. What they all had in common, besides being bonafide and very handsome dive watches, was that they did not have a date display. As the years went by, the Submariner continued being built for divers, but its popularity crossed over to the masses - many of whom needed a date display on their watches. The original Submariner 'look' was partially diluted (pun intended) in the name of necessity. Not so this Submariner reference 14060, which harkens back to the earliest Submariner models.Unpolished stainless steel case is 40mm in diameter with a sapphire crystal and screw down crown. Case is water resistant to 1000 feet or 300 meters. Bezel turns counter-clockwise only and serves as a dive (or anything else) timer counting up to 60 minutes of elapsed time.Original and now collectable tritium dial is glossy black with applied luminous hour markers and hands.

Many people prefer this model's dial for the sparse text and nice symmetry between the hour markers (which is not the case with the Submariner date).Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3000 with 27 jewels and adjusted in 5 positions. Movement is pristine and running.Bracelet is heavy link stainless steel Rolex Oyster with flip lock clasp.Watch is unpolished with original Rolex papers, hangtag, anchor and Rolex box.
