Sorry about the delayed reply. I'll be glad to give examples. E1M7, E1M9 and E2M6 are pretty quiet compared to their midi counterparts, also E4M1 starts out with E1M8 music, i'm not sure if you knew this already. Doom 2 Map 1 is pretty quiet, but this song is fine due to how unliked it is. Map 7 is definitely more quiet that the original midi. Moderators reserve the right to interpret the rules as they see fit if something is borderline.Doom is a series of sci-fi action/horror games from, starting with Doom in 1993, and continuing with Doom 3 and Doom (2016).In Doom, you play as a space marine tasked with defeating the unleashed demonic forces of Hell, using a variety of heavy weapons and your own skill against the invading hordes. Doom codified and revolutionized First-Person Shooters, and remains one of the most influential games in the genre.Feel free to also discuss Doom-engine games such as Heretic, Hexen, and Strife, and any others. Smooth Doom with and is what I use when I wanna play 'Classic Doom' with QOL additions, at it's very best. The caulking in particular is nice, gives each enemy unique sfx, otherwise a lot of the enemies share pain sounds and such.Edit: As far as music goes, if I'm playing Ultimate Doom;.

Otherwise:.If I had to pick a favorite megawad. That's hard, a lot of really good ones out there.Sunlust and Sunder have super cool environments, Sunder being a slaughter wad that IMO is still fun to play. Whispers Of Satan is definitely another good, memorable one IMO.

Also quite enjoy the 'Doom and Doom II the Way Id Did' wads (DTWID and D2TWID) and feel they do manage to capture the feel of classic Id level design quite well. If you want something like BD/PB, try out the Complex Doom. It is an extensive gameplay mod with expanded and randomized weapons, items and monsters. It also has many addons, with some among them adding the infamous Legendary monsters (ultimate monster variants, exuding the characteristic yellow and blue aura; the 'Legs' are so insane, they normally require an overpowered weapon to have a chance at taking them down). For something related to RO, there are the other Pillowblaster's mods: Guncaster and Trailblazer, also featuring overpowered protagonists.

I found the vanilla music to be a bit boring, in all honesty. I also have a love for retro shooters and found myself using all sorts of retro shooter mods for SS3. So, following that train of logic, I made a retro shooter music mod.The music was all made by Steve Rot. He released his DOOM tribute project a couple of years back completely for free (you can find it with a quick Google and I greatly recommend it). So, obviously, all music credit goes to him. Now, sadly, while his DOOM tribute did have all of the DOOM II tracks faithfully remade, it only had the Episode 1 tracks from The Ultimate DOOM (with the addition of 'Bunny,' though it went unused). I did as best I could to ensure that no tracks are re-used anywhere, with one or two exceptions. You'll hardly notice where I did so, anyway, unless you're specifically listening for it.I'm not going to sit around and compile a comprehensive list of what track replaces what track as I had enough of a headache on deciding where each track should go in the first place.

For various reasons, InsideBuildingTense, SyrianComplexMystical, TheLast SyrianThroneRoom, InsidePyramidMystical, and all four War tracks have been left untouched. If anyone wishes to make a video to showcase the mod, please feel free to do so with my encouragement. I'll feature it here on the Workshop with full credit. As a final note, if you have any suggestions on track rearrangements or replacements, I'll gladly hear them out. I had to revise about half of the tracks the other day due to poor placement/feeling out of place. I make no guarantees, but if it works better then I might well update the mod.
