Fallout New Vegas Music Mod
For the longest time I've been wanting to replace the music in New Vegas. Initially I thought it would be under the music folder which would only be logical. But it seems that the only song that is used from there is the title music. Google searches have only led me to making radio stations which is not what I want at all. More digging and searching has pointed me to both a Sounds.bsa which doesn't seem to exist and a mus folder which doesn't seem to exist either referring to sounds/fx/mus.
I've downloaded music mods and they all seem to replace files in the sounds/fx/mus directory but I don't have one. Hoe do I do this?. Music, or songs that are licesened or in the public domain which play on the radio are located at 'datasoundssongsradionv'Music which plays in-game is stored in subfolders inside of 'datamusic'What type of music did you have in mind that you wanted to replace?
Music Pack for Radio New Vegas, ver. This is my first 'mod', if you want to call it that. I did work long and hard on it so there's that. Anyway: Adds 250 tracks to Radio New Vegas, using Jarol's Extended New Vegas Radio Generator mod (you don't need to download his mod to use this). All tracks normalised. All tracks play on Wasteland radios. Mojave Music Radio eXpanded - v1.1 by HarnessedYeti This mod does two things: 1. Combines the tracklists of Radio New Vegas and MMR to expand the vanilla music available for listening on MMR 2. (and more importantly) Adds 30 extra tracks, in addition to the vanilla music to MMR, thus expanding the playlist from 17 to 61.
You'll have to be specific.It turns out that if you're curious about replacing music which plays on the radio, all those tutorials on making radio stations are exactly what you want to read. If you want to change or replace the ambient music which plays based on location/situation, there's a bit more work involved but it all comes down to what you want to do.Also, you may want/need to familiarize yourself with how data is packaged with the game in a.bsa. Shortly after writing this I continued to search for a solution.
I found Fallout - Sounds.bsa. I had my suspicions and looked in there to find that my suspicions were correct. There is a mus folder in the bsa so I extracted all of it. I want to replace a lot of things and know that I can do so by just placing that mus folder in Data/sounds/fx and then replacing the oggs in there.
Mostly what I want to change is the battle music. In the mus folder there is battle intros and outros but no actual battle music. I have a suspicion that it plays the intros and outros from the mus folder and then plays the battle music from the music folder (which would be a really odd way to do it). I'm going to find a way to test this theory but if you could tell me whether I'm right or wrong it would be much faster.P.S: No I do not want to change the radio music. At least not right now.
First off, you suggested an out of date mod. BLEED, made by Roy Batty, is the spiritual, bug-free successor to Realistic Weapon Damages. Second, LOOT is not recommended for Fallout New Vegas. For Skyrim, it's fine, but in FNV, you are better off following the standard load order guide for TTW (it works for New Vegas as well) found on their website.
There are tutorials everywhere for that and when the time comes I'll look at those. Yes, I've looked at that already.
It seems that is just for making your own ambient zones which is not exactly what I wanted. Thanks though.
I want to replace music in the game, specifically battle music. Not make my own music zones. While searching through the mus folder I have found that it may be impossible to replace exploration music since it seems to be cobbled together with small instrument stings. (Interesting way of doing things) But let's just boil down my problem to more specifics.
Right now my number one priority is to replace the battle music. How do I do that?.EDIT.I replaced the battle music. It gets intros and outros from the mus folder and then plays a battle song from the music folder. Simply replacing those songs with the a new song that has the same name will replace them. Or you can find the mp3, wav, ogg you want to replace with your own music and just rename yours to the same names of the vanilla files making sure to leave them in the correct directory path(s) in the datasound Not hard at all. Really the hardest thing to do with sound is create intro and outro they are super short and need to blend nicely with the fade-in of the battle music.Good Luck,Geoff. To be honest, this is all purely cosmetic for my own benefit. I may utilize this knowledge some way in the future for something else. So as for intros and outros I'll probably just replace them with one milisecond silent tracks to just get rid of them.
I'm having a situation with stuttering in Fallout New Vegas. After I install the big texture mods like NMC's and OJO bueno, every time I fast travel, exit from indoor to outdoor (after the cell had enough time to unload), or enter a new grid where the LODs have to load, I get huge macro stutter. I'll do a 360 turn in game after said event and it can pause for up to a second or two. I've tried absolutely everything.-New Vegas Stutter Remover is installed and I've tweaked settings (turned some things on and off and nothing changed)-Different INI configs and I've used BethINI tweaks (Usually has to do with the threaded stuff and unloading cells)-Rolled back drivers/updated them (as far back as NVIDIA 368.xx drivers and still nothing)-Uninstalled and re-installed the game (I even reset my entire computer and that didn't help)-Using YUP unofficial patch, NVAC, cleaned masters, etc. (Again, didn't help)-No viruses or malware on my PC-I'm using Mod Organizer-NVSE and memory patch for it is installed-EDIT: I am using the most up to date 4GB Patcher-EDIT: I am using ENBoostNow one thing that sort of alleviated the issue was removing the overclock on my CPU from 4.2Ghz to 3.5Ghz (stock). I'm not exactly sure why. Someone told me that Bethesda games don't react well to OC's, but I've seen plenty of people who don't have this issue.
Even at stock I still get enough stuttering to make the game nearly unplayable. I don't want to get rid of my OC as it boosts performance in every other game. My specs are.i5-6600k at 4.2GHz 1.3V16GB DDR4 at 3000MhzGTX 1070 8GBSamsung 850 EVO 500GBOf course when I remove all my texture mods the stuttering stops. But it makes no sense as my PC is more than enough to handle a fully modded New Vegas.
I'm absolutely clueless as to what the issue is. It might be some sort of incompatibility with my graphics drivers or CPU. On my old PC (FX-8350, 8GG DDR3, GTX 970 3.5GB) this wasn't an issue at all. If anyone could help at all that'd be awesome. I'm trying to get my modlist set up and I refuse to play the game with the vanilla textures (yeah I'm that kind of guy).Edited by Ender108, 24 September 2017 - 03:58 PM.
That hardware should be able to handle the game. Most likely the issue is something is not configured correctly.
However, Win10 DX9 drivers currently have a VRAM limitation of 4GB imposed, so you may need to use lower resolution textures until that is fixed in the October 'Fall Creator's' update.Please see the 'Solutions to Performance problems' section in the wiki ' guide. Seriously consider ENBBoost if your issue seems to be texture related.Be sure you check the nVidia driver configuration as well as the game settings. Either one can negate the other.
