Prophesy Of Pendor Mines

On

I've set my self up as a powerful minor lord. Got a mediocre army, 1000 renown, an ugly wife who's father runs the richest town in sarleon, a knight in the order of the lion, got a shitty village that lies on the border between the fierdsvain and ravenstern, friendly with the noldor, got noldor sword, shield, and bow, but still need a qualis gem. I want the power of the noldor. I want to harness it for my own. In order to recruit one I need a gem. However I am weak.

Warsword Conquest

I traded the hidden gem for the map which was a stupid move. If I am to take my first castle then I need the noldor. Just hopping on here to ask what you're planning to use the Qualis Gem for, OP? Sounds like you're planning to recruit some Noldor troops to help capture a castle. It might not feel like it, but that's a real waste of a gem. The troops you hire will die faster than you expect, and then you'll be left empty-handed. Much better to save the gem until you've captured the castle, and then use it to establish a knighthood order. If you can't get other lords to help you capture a castle and you're getting impatient, you could always turn the battlesize down. With good quality troops - consider using the Order quest where you lead around 120 fellow knights - you can overcome a large numerical disadvantage.

Prophesy of Pendor is an awesome mod. Missing diplomacy, but has a lot of features that are pretty awesome.

Luckily Pendor is full of enemies, Vanskerry raiders, deserter parties, Heretics, Snake Cult Followers, a smorgasbord of battles awaiting you! If you're going to survive pendor you're going to need to be the biggest bully, putting all of your points into leadership when you can is quite helpful early on as leadership gains 10 men instead of 5.

Difficult though, cavalry is difficult to obtain early on. Only one faction (Ravenstern) has cavalry units in their peasant troop tree, and they are tier 6 units so expensive to get and keep. Cavalry is also significantly more powerful than in native. Especially knighthood groups you see running around. Don't make the mistake I made the first time I started playing and think that little group of 35 Knights of the dawn can be handled with a party of 175 with tier 4 units. Those knighthood orders will fuck your shit up, and depending on how you build your character in creation, some of them may be hostile to you at the start. Also don't take the Noldor lightly.I never addressed qualis gems.

They are very hard to acquire items that you can use for various purposes. Using one to gain access to a vendor who will sell Noldor items, setting up certain knighthood orders, and a couple other things. Difficult to obtain though.

'Easiest' way is to defeat unique spawn armies, capture their leader and talk to them, one option is to have them go away (for a while) in exchange for a gem. You need to take out the Red Brotherhood Hideout for the Qualis Gem, it's in a treasure chest towards the back of their spawn area. If you missed it, then I'm afraid you missed your gem. Afterwards there's no guarantee it'll spawn.Alaric von Brouhaha is VERY easy, and his army is around 300 to start, I think. I took him on with 96 mid to high tier troops with some knights sprinkled in and only lost one guy and had a few others wounded. His army consists of himself, Young Eastern Nobles(Weak with no real armor, the only danger they pose is the lance), tons of peasants, and Sarleon Deserters. You may of heard that every random army has a 'unique spawn' version(Mystmountain has Wolfebode, Snake Cult has Dread Legion), well Alaric is the unique spawn for the Peasant Revolt, so he's notoriously easy.Stealth edit: Fixed some stuff.

I get most of my Q gems by luring minor armies into the Noldor woods. Anytime K'Juda or Zulkar spawn they are easy to bait into a fight with the Noldor.

Maltise spawns close by but you generally need a full strength Noldor lord to take her down. If Wolfbode spawns by Poinsbruck I'll lure him to the Noldor, but if he spawns by Ravenstern I don't bother. If I am the marshal or king, sometimes I just gather some lords together to help me farm a Q gem, especially if my vassals can hire several hundred prisoners after the battle.
