New Vegas Black Screen
So I recently started having problems for my Fallout New Vegas games where I would have a black screen upon starting a new game. I deleted every Fallout NV file that I had and downloaded TTW and been playing it for a couple of hours. When I activate Hialgo SWITCH by pressing f10 in Fallout New Vegas the screen turns black, the game isn't frozen or anything I can hear when.

For many months now, I have constantly tried to install an enb onto New Vegas, only to succumb to the failure. Today was such a day. I have looked for an answer but have come up with nothing.
I hope one of you will be able to help me find a solution. Here goes:I have a GTX 1070 and the Windows 10 Anniversary update. Also I'm running the 4GB Enabler.
Since I have an GTX 1070, it made me resort to downloading the off of the Nexus in order to even play NV. I also have NVSE and 4GB Enabler installed, which is well and all, except that I had to also look into why 4GB Enabler wasn't working properly. I finally found the solution, which was to also put the.dll file I got off of the Nexus and put it into the 'exes' folder, where I also put the 'FalloutNV.exe'. That solved my modding problems, and now I don't have to worry about the constant crash due to 'Out of memory' popping up in the middle of game play. Here's the problem: An enb needs the 'EnbSeries'.dll file to be placed into the NV directory. However, every time I place the.dll file in the NV folder (also tried putting it in the 'exes' folder), and I start up the game, it black screens immediately on start up.
Full Black Screen
The title music can still be heard, but the screen is dark. I saw another post saying that turning the DVR on the crappy Xbox app off would work. I tried it and it still black screened. I think it has to be the EnbSeries.dll file, since I tried running the Enb without it, and instead with the Nvidia.dll file.
The Enb didn't work of course, but the game didn't black screen at startup. My mods work fine. It's just the enbs I have a problem with. I wish to run Dynamo Enb, but the.dll files have been a pain in my side. Does anyone have a solution? I just want my game to feel good and look great. I had same problem I'm also using windows 10 with latest updates and latest Nvidia drivers (376.33).first make sure you download ENBseries v0.278, I've made the mistake of downloading from the patch section.Extract the Injector version of ENBseries if your using fnv4gb, in your Fallout New Vegas folder. Then only extract the d3d9.dll file from the wrapper version in your New Vegas folder.
Mother of God, you did it. You saved me in my time of peril. I had begun to lose hope. I cannot express how grateful I truly am. I will sum up with bullet points as to how exactly I accomplished it, just in case anyone has the same problem and needs the solution ready at hand. Before anything, I had to make sure I still had the settings for Antialiasing and Anti Filtering off, because I tried to go back and turn them off after doing what you said to do, only to mess up the files and causing it to crash. Learn from my mistakes, and do this first.I copied the entire 'ENBseries v0.278 Injector version' and pasted it onto the New Vegas directory.I put the 'Wrapper Version'.dll file in the NV directory as well (although not in the 'exes' folder, as that would still crash the game as it starts.
I kept the Nvidia.dll file as it was in the 'exes' folder).I then put the Dynamo enb files in there. However, I had to find a more version of it. Even then, it takes a few minutes to stabilize the FPS.
Easy enough if you watch a YouTube video as to how to extract it.Then inside the 'Injector Version' folder, I opened 'enbinjector.ini' and made 'ProcessName2=fnv4gb.exe'. Saved/exited.Next, in the same folder, I made ENBInjector.exe run as administrator.

Keep in mind that it has to be running while playing New Vegas. So maybe have it on the desktop for quick access, and before playing, launch it and leave it there while you play. And finally I ran the shortcut I had on the desktop for fnv4gb.exe.I see that this is your first comment. I appreciate you helping me mod my game.IMPORTANT: In STEP 1, I forgot to mention what exactly happened when my game decided not to work properly. The 'Nvidia.dll file' makes FNV think I am running a Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS. Not what I wanted, but what can I do about it. Anyways, it turns out that by trying to go back and change the AA and AF on the title screen with the newly added 'Wrapper Injector.dll file', makes New Vegas search again for a new graphics card. As I've stated before, I have a GTX 1070.
So now FNV would find the GTX 1070 on the title screen before starting the game. This sounds good and all. However, this messes everything up, as I start the game up through 4GB Enabler and not through the main title screen for the game. So now if I were to start up the game through 4GB Enabler after going through the title screen and having the game find my 1070, it would be an immediate crash. I had to replace the 'Wrapper Version.dll file' on the FNV directory with the 'Nvidia.dll file' and start the main title screen again for the game to make the graphics card the GeForce 7900 GS again.
That's the only way I could fix it. So if you somehow managed to miss Step 1, and you still need to turn of AA and AF, I recommend downloading the. It lets you tweak the settings from the main title screen without having to open it. Also needed to watch in order for my game to even run without stutters. Just keep in mind that you should tweak 'VideoMemorySizeMb' between 'Total Available Graphics Memory' you have and 'Dedicated Video Memory' you have.
For example, I have a 'Total Available Graphics Memory' of 16,327 MB, and 8,192 MB of 'Dedicated Video Memory'. I edited my '.ini' to be like hers and put '12288' MB next to 'VideoMemorySizeMb' and set 'ReservedMemorySizeMb=768'. It will depend on what you have. I based this on 1024 MB, so if you want to increase the memory, do it by increments of 1024 MB.
Yes, I have Windows 10. Installing NVAC unfortunately didn't work. It seems that if I remove the Nvidia.dll file, the game outright refuses to start up. It's an immediate crash. If I replace the Nvidia.dll file with the EnbSeries.dll file, the game doesn't crash. It black screens at the beginning.
The Iron Bull is somewhat of an odd character, as his life's indulgences are in violation to the Qun, which the Iron Bull still professes his loyalty to.The Iron Bull may not seem that receptive to flirtation, but don't worry. His appearance is quite striking due to his one eye, and he is also an agent of the Ben-Hassrath, and relays information to both them and the Inquisition.
It's not a crashing problem I have. That was solved with the Nvidia.dll file. It's that the EnbSeries.dll file makes my screen black on start up. Again, I do hear the title music as the game starts up. So it's just a problem with the screen being dark on start up.
I just currently had an issue similar to yours. No need to reinstall your game. Normally it would be a texture conflict from a mod you recently installed. I installed UIO after learning that it was included with Project Nevada and f.cked up my files.Go into your mod manager and deactivate all your mods. Also Uninstall your Conflicting mod. (you can locate it using LOOT or FNVEdit) Go into steam and Verify Integrity of Game Cache located in your games properties. Now launch the game from the vanilla launcher in steam and wait upon loadup.
If you can see the Introduction of the game then it is now fixed.
