- What Warhammer 40K Race Are You Ever Wondered What Race You Would Be If You Were In Warhammer 40K, Well Here Is The Answer to your conondrum. 1 If Your Enemy Was Begging For Mercy At Your Feet, What Would You Do.
Of course all of them aren't gonna be there from day 1! The races can't have shared assets, so if this game is gonna be good, they have to devote a lot of time and care to each one. Even within the races the armies are diverse:Empire: Ten provinces (not counting Kislev and Marienburg) with distinct cultures, knightly orders, immigrants such as halflings, ogres and dwarves.
If Kislev and Marienburg is in the mix then it will be a lot of difference, since those armies are completely different from the Empire.Dwarves: Not united at all, just various freeholds and such. Lots of potential for the cultures to be militaristic, builders, traders etc. If done well, Dwarves should never have to attack and can just buy other freeholds and defend them when need be.Greenskins: Tons of different clans with an unholy amount of variety, especially when it comes to goblins and squigs.Vampires: Four different bloodlines that are different in form, strengths, goals and strategy. Now look at this. The rest of the Warhammer races are just as diverse.
Now, I hope that Chaos is also in there (even though Chaos itself will be a huge project if they want to get it right, with four gods that differ from eachother as much as they do) as well as Kislev, at least as pre-order DLC, and Bretonnia would be nice just to make the map of The Old World complete, but the rest of the races will be better to implement as dlc since they all have problems.Skaven? They don't really own any cities on the surface, so either they will have to implement some weird shadow rule system or a subterranean map for the race to be playable. Beastmen share the same problem and would have to function a bit like hordes in Atilla.Elves? Across the ocean. I'd rather they spent time on the old world rather than over-extending.Tomb Kings, Lizardmen and Ogres?
Whole different part of the world that isn't fully fleshed out in the lore and will have completely different climates and environments that I feel would need a lot of time dedicated to them. Now, of course I want more races in the game, but there's no need to get upset about only four being in there at release. Yes, I would like the elves to be there, as well as the skaven and beastmen, but I want them to feel different from the other races. If it turns out that they DO plan on having skaven and elves on release, I'm gonna be a bit worried about them overextending themselves to be honest. The armies in this game aren't copypastes, they are all extremely different from eachother, and it is going to be hard enough just to get these four races right. So just shut up and wait for the game to come out or release more information. These four races are the best races available for a base game, the rest can wait. A good point, if we are already waiting probably 1-2 years for this release then if we wanted to double the amount of races then we would expect another 1-2 years on top of this. I am fine with an earlier release that sells other factions as DLC later assuming they aren't already developed and just barring access for DLC.The game is also going to be a trilogy, my guess will be 4 factions in first part, +4 in next part with first ported over with additional units, then a repear of 4 more factions in the last part. Assuming the game is successful enough for them. Originally posted by Dio:Of course all of them aren't gonna be there from day 1!
